This door is designed so well that it withstands winds up to 150mph while being large missile impact rated.

Florida law requires all garage doors installed to meet or exceed county wind codes and impact requirements. To enforce this policy, it is required to get a permit from the local county building department. This is for the consumer's protection and ensures the correct windcode is used and that the door is installed by a certified installer. Fines are stiff for nonconformity.

Hurricane Garage Door Upgrades

# 3 - Use The Best Garage Door Company

Choose only a Brevard County Certified Contractor. License # should appear in all ads and website. Our Brevard County Garage Door Contractor LIC #GR38
and Indian River Garage Door Contractor LIC #16953. Call the Brevard County Licensing at 321-633-2072 and make sure before hiring anyone.
Ask to sign a total amount for the job before work begins.
When buying a new door make sure the price includes taking away the door away and the cost of the permit.
Make sure the phone is answered in the same business name you called in the ad. If they answer with a generic "garage doors" they may be operating under multiple names in an attempt to deceive.
The technician should arrive in a company uniform.
Trucks should have the name of the company, phone number and logo. (when there is no information on the truck and no uniform it might indicate the company is fly-by-night or a sub-contractor is doing the work. In either case it might be difficult to track down who actually did the work if you have a problem).
Ask the company for a copy of their current liability insurance policy. If the tech is injured in the garage and this policy is not in force, you could be held liable.
Ask for a labor warranty. Labor should be warranted for at least one year.
The company should answer their phones 24/7. If it is difficult to connect when hiring, you can expect it to be even more difficult when calling back in the case of problem or emergency.
Criminal background checks should be administered on all employees. (You don't want a felon in your garage.)
Never write a check to someone's personal name and try to avoid paying in cash.
